We have been using pLog's tablet based solution now for several years. Actually started with pLog nearly 15 years ago when it was PDA based. pLog allows us to be more productive and get data in from the field in near real time. We find this solution better than other tablet based logging solutions because it can handle pictures and the logging configuration can be updated easily based on client needs. I would recommend pLog to anyone looking for a tablet based logging solution.

Our company has been using Plog since about 2005. I was well accustomed to the PDA version of Plog before the transition to Tablets. I thought PLog worked well on ruggedized PDAs. As with all hardware and software, however, there is always room for improvement. Admittedly, learning Plog in a tablet format has been in some sense re-learning to ride a bicycle. But I strongly advocate that tablet usage is a great leap forward in efficiency and marketability. Field data upload time has been substantially reduced by means of the Cloud. Efficiency and comfort level of logging in the field with the tablet increases with each project as I learn how to navigate quickly between various fields. To Dataforensics' credit, Plog software has continued to evolve to keep pace with technology and demand. A big part of the software's viability and evolution is Dataforensics' willingness to listen to its customers' feedback. They have always been supportive of suggestions and responsive when I have had technical questions.

Plog really cuts down on the paper logs and allows any of our field staff to enter their own logs. Its quite user friendly but experience with gint helps. It's worthwhile to spend time with it before actually hitting the field with it, but it's pretty intuitive. The dropdown descriptions also help limit typos. With a bit of patience, the app proves its worth on a daily basis.

The current Plog app is a huge improvement from the previous PDA version. It, first, streamlines the process of producing borehole logs through one time data input in the field which reduces entry and review time in the office. Second, it allows users to reduce the amount of data input by copying previous layer descriptions. The “Log Review” feature is a great idea. It helps logger at a glance and while sitting on the drill rig to review a complete layout of the borehole log similar to a paper log and thus makes any correction actions while in the field. The staff at Dataforensics is very knowledgeable and helpful. They provided very good technical help to customize the app to meet the company’s expectations. I highly recommend Plog.

pLog has provided our company with the ability to much more efficiently collect data electronically in the field and eliminate time associated with double entry of data. We have realized reduced log preparation time, increased efficiency, increased quality and decreased review time in producing our boring logs. With the new Tablet version, the data entry has been streamlined, the data transfer has been simplified and the draft report production has become "real time." Scott's company is very helpful and amenable to making changes that allow the software to be customized to a company's individual needs. Highly recommended.
